On Love’s Ambition Episode 3, Xu Yan is desperate to win over Yu Lan, Shen Haoming’s mother, so that she can have a good future. She gives Yu Lan a cashmere scarf, but it doesn’t go well when her pals make fun of her pick. Xu Yan doesn’t give up. She realizes how important it is to be accepted by Yu Lan’s friends and chooses to do something.
She joins Yu Lan’s tennis group to make herself look better and learns about the power of Ms. Qu, a wealthy socialite. Xu Yan promptly signs up for Kunqu Opera classes because she wants to impress Ms. Qu, who later asks her to compete.
